Semi Truck Slams Into New Jersey Strip Club

TruckCarFront

A New Jersey strip club got quite the surprise recently when a semi truck slammed into it, causing significant damage. The crash occurred on the evening of January 30 in Pennsauken Township, located in Camden County.

The outside of Club 21Twenty, a South Jersey strip club, became littered with debris after a tractor-trailer slammed into it. The adult entertainment facility, located along New Jersey Route 73, is attached to the Riviera Motor Inn.

Images from the accident site showed the damaged truck next to broken cinder blocks at the entrance of the club. After the crash, the truck was moved away from the damaged entrance. Debris and cinder blocks had fallen onto the ground.

Nobody was injured in the accident. The cause of the crash is unknown, but police from Pennsauken Township are still investigating.

Why Do Vehicles Crash Into Buildings?

Car-building crashes may seem rare, but they actually happen more often than you may think. It’s a routine event that happens, on average, roughly 60 times a day. Drivers young and old may crash into buildings.

Vehicles may crash into buildings for several reasons. While there is no exact science as to why this happens, the common theme is loss of control. Here are some of the most common causes:

  • Pedal confusion. Drivers may press the gas instead of the brake. This happens most often in parking lots and drive-thrus.
  • Loss of control. Speeding, reckless driving, or overcorrecting can cause vehicles to leave the roadway and hit something, such as a building.
  • Medical emergencies. Sudden health issues like heart attacks, seizures, or blackouts can lead to pedal errors such as unintended acceleration.
  • Impaired driving. Alcohol, drugs, or fatigue can slow reaction times and impair judgment.
  • Distracted driving. Texting, eating, or other distractions can cause drivers to miss turns or fail to stop.
  • Slippery roads. Ice, rain, or oil spills can make it hard to stop in time.
  • Poor visibility. Fog, glare, or nighttime conditions can make it hard to see buildings or driveways.
  • Improper parking design. Lack of barriers or short stopping distances in parking lots increase the risk of crashing into storefronts.
  • Brake failures. A malfunctioning braking system can prevent a driver from stopping.
  • Steering issues. If steering components fail, the vehicle may veer off course.
  • Tire blowouts. A sudden loss of tire pressure can cause a driver to lose control.
  • Intentionally crashing. In rare cases, drivers may crash into buildings on purpose due to anger, criminal intent, or mental issues.
